What NOT to WEAR

I love the show What NOT to WEAR by TLC. Stacey London and Clinton Kelly have done a wonderful job with this fashion advice show.  It has helped me become a more stylish women.  I used to wear baggy jeans and an over sized old sweatshirt. Now I find joy in how I present myself to others. I feel beautiful and confident in the way I dress the body that God has given me.

Subscribe to my blog so you can get updates on each of these rules.  We will go more in depth in the future.

Face shapes

Yesterday my hair dresser cut my hair in a new style for the fall. Its going to take some getting used to, but as you can see, I am enjoying playing with it. My only wish is that I would have left one side of my bangs longer.  I feel like I need something at cheek length with my face shape. Maybe as it grows I can do that.

Want to know your face shape? Figure out your face shape by answering the questions below:
face, face shape, oval face, round face, long face, heart shape face, diamond face shape
After answering the questions, let's figure out your face shape.

Oblong-longer than wide with a rounded chin
Round- Length and width of face is almost the same.  Widest at the cheeks.
Long- Length of face is longer than width.
Square- Forehead, cheeks and jawline are almost the same width.
Heart- Face narrows at chin. Pointy chin. Prominent forehead.
Diamond- Widest at temples. Angular face.

In a future post we will discuss what hairstyles work best for your face shape. Stay tuned!!

Bomb threat at school

Yesterday our daughter’s school was evacuated because of a bomb threat.  Johannes found out about the threat while on the bus returning to school from Cosmetology school. After arriving at the school the bus was filled with 1st graders and Johannes.  She isn’t sure why she had to ride with a bunch of 1st graders.  The students were taken to a local church where they sat and waited for several hours to meet up with their parents.
We drove past the school and they had security guards all over the entrances.  So we drove over to the church to pick up Johannes. This church is HUGE and the parking lot was almost completely full.
We received a piece of paper to fill out so we could prove who we were.  We also were required to have our ID.  Phil gave an interview to a local new channel. He did a great job.
We spent the next hour listening to a lady slowly read off names of students.  Finally they just let us go in and get our students.
Police did not find anything suspicious in the school.

Prank on PHIL!

I finally did it! I pulled a prank over on Phil! He is always getting Johannes and I, but I did it! I saw this really cute "sponge" cake on pinterest and thought I would give it a try.  Here are the directions:

Pranks, jokes, Fake sponge cake, funny
Step 1- You will need two car wash sponges.  Dab a little bit of frosting on the plate and then put the first sponge on top.  The frosting will secure the sponge to the plate. Add a little more frosting to the top of the first sponge and add the second sponge on top.

Step 2- Frost your sponges with any kind of frosting. Make sure you have enough to make the frosting thick. Mine was a little thin and you could see the two "layers" of the cake.  More frosting would hide that.

Step 3- Decorate your cake. I used lost of sprinkles on top because we love sprinkles in our house.  Make sure you have a cake knife to cut your cake and plates ready for each person.  This makes your prank a little more believable.

Enjoy the fun of watching the pranked person try to cut the cake.  It just doesn't work!

Last step.... Make a REAL cake to enjoy.

UFC Benson Henderson

Last night we had a UFC watching party at our house.  UFC stands for Ultimate Fighting Championship. It is the largest mixed martial arts company in the world, and only the top ranking fighters can participate.

Phil and I love to watch. It can be gory sometimes but most of the time it is a mixture of boxing, wrestling, and karate.   Last night my favorite UFC fighter, fought. Benson Henderson is from Colorado Springs and is outspoken about his faith in God.  You can tell from the moment he enters the octagon with ‘Our God is an Awesome God’ playing.

Henderson lost last night, but even while cringing in pain from an Arm Bar injury, he gave glory to God. He quoted Philippians 4:13.  His coach calls him God’s Warrior.

It made me think about my life.  Am I showing the world what I believe whether or not things are going my way? When the spotlight is on me, do I praise God and give him glory?
