Johannes's Tattoos

My collarbone is John 16:33 "I have overcome the world" in my friend's handwriting c: 
First tattoo.
It tickled.

And I designed my thigh pieces. 
 
Yes, I did get three. Yes it was my first tattoo.
  Around 5 hours of tattooing. Go hard or go home I guess lol

Portion size

Tennis ball- Rice or pasta
Deck of cards- Meat
Dice-butter
Golf ball-peanut butter, jam, salad dressing
Floss-chocolate
Baseball-fruit
Mouse-baked potato
Dominoes- cheese
Average woman's fist- 1 cup

 It has been a little hectic around our house for awhile. Last week seemed a little worse for me emotionally. I couldn't figure out why, then it dawned on me....I forgot to take my SLIM! I didn't have as much energy and also my blood sugar was totally out of whack. As soon as I realized my mistake I opened my packet, poured it in my water bottle and drank it. Wow! I feel so much better. I can't believe how much of a difference SLIM makes!

Not your Grandmother's Hula Hooping

   This year Phil and I have been introduced to HOOPING. This is not your grandmother’s type of hula hooping. Johannes has taught us that hooping is a beautiful art and also a great source of exercise. 

      
Today's hooping is frequently rotated  around parts of the body other than the waist, including the hips, chest, neck, shoulders, thighs, knees, arms, hands, thumbs, feet and toes. Also the hoop can be rotated not just on different parts of the body but off the body as well.
      
Johannes has an LED hoop. This hoop has lights that are lit with an internal battery.  LED hoops make mesmerizing  patterns when spun at high speeds at night or in the dark.


Is anyone interested in a hooping exercise video? I think it would be a fun way to workout and loose some weight!

Heart rate training range

For Christmas this year I received a heart rate monitor. I am so excited. I love it. BUT now I know how hard I am NOT working and had to increase my intensity to stay in my training zone. If you don't have a heart rate monitor I would suggest buying one or borrowing mine. It has been very eye opening.


Have you ever wondered what your heart rate should be while exercising? Here is one method of figuring that range. 

For example:

Heather is 20 year old. She desires to get burn fat in her workouts. In order for Heather to achieve her goal she will need to keep her heart rate between 120—140.



           220

           - 20 Heather’s age

          200 max heart rate

          X60– 70%

         120-140   heart rate training range


The heart rate 60-70 % range is meant for general fitness, weight loss and beginning athletes. Your goals should be to improve general fitness while training the body to be more efficient at burning calories. These goals can be met to varying degrees through a broad range of training intensities.

Exercising at the lower end of the heart rate range will increase health benefits with less risk of injury or over training. Training at the high end of this range will produce more fitness and performance improvements, but with greater risk of injury and over training. Higher intensities are not recommended for novice fitness enthusiasts.
