When we were kids, we used to call each other just to talk. Now,
texting is the ‘call’ of this generation. Technology is great. As we improve
these areas of technology we need to make sure we are keeping up with the
etiquette that goes with it.
Remember that cell
phones are not a right but a privilege. They are a lot of fun but they can
cause a lot of problems. Anything you text can be used against you for
the rest of your life.
Texting is a fun, easy way to stay in touch, but relationships are better built face-to-face.
Parents, you are the best role model for your teen.
Make sure you are using proper texting etiquette.
Boo. I just sent my Awana leaders 3 160 character texts, one after the other. :) (Not the norm, but I had a lot to cover before our first night tonight!) Best advice is, "Face to face conversations are more important!"
ReplyDeleteWith everyone having their phone with them all the time, sometimes its worth sending 3 texts in the row just to make sure they get it.
DeleteI agree face to face time is so important.
The one reason I might send more than 1 160 character text is if it is to more than one person. But I guess that is what email is for. Maybe I did not have all the email addresses and I had all the phone numbers. Now I am rambling. At least it is not a text message.
